Search for Wainhouse Tower plans reaches Cleveleys

12/03/08 - It was recently brought to my attention that the orginal plans for Wainhouse Tower were still in existence and may reside in Cleveleys.  The plans were passed down to a Mr Harry Buckley of Cleveleys, the grandson of chief stone mason Isaac Buckley.  Apparently, he then handed the plans down to his grandson who I understand is a retired Headmaster in the Cleveleys area.  The local paper ran an article today hoping for some news.

Wainhouse Terrace goes under the hammer

03/03/08 - Wainhouse Terrace has gone under the hammer today at auction.  The ornate terrace sold to developers for £76,000.  It is unclear at this point what the terrace will be used for.  I am assured by English Heritage that whatever development takes place, the terrace is protected by its Grade II listed status.  Any proposed plan must ensure the protection of the terrace and take its features into consideration on the design.
